COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY, HEALTH & TRAFFIC

August 4, 2026 at 5:30 PM

Chairman Vincent called the meeting to order.

The Clerk called the roll.

Present: Aldermen Vincent, Goonan, Dexter, Barry, Bonilla

  1. The Traffic Division has submitted an agenda which needs to be addressed:

NO PARKING ANYTIME

  • On Pearl Street, south side, from a point 80 feet west of Walnut Street to Union Street east back Alderman Fajardo
  • On Wilson Street, west side, from Laurel Street to a point 50 feet south Alderman Bonilla
  • On Belmont Street, west side, from Spruce Street to Massabesic Street Alderman Bonilla

RESCIND NO PARKING - LOADING ZONE

  • On Belmont Street, west side, from Spruce Street to Massabesic Street (ORD 2662) Alderman Bonilla

On motion of Alderman Barry, duly seconded by Alderman Dexter, it was voted to approve.

Alderman Bonilla: I want to provide clarity on the new parking meters that we have. The meters are at a specific height to meet ADA compliance, especially for those with limited mobility. I just wanted to provide that clarity as to why the meters are at that specific height, especially downtown.

Chairman Vincent: I appreciate that. I would also bring that up during the Board meeting tonight, as well.

There being no further business, on motion of Alderman Barry, duly seconded by Alderman Dexter, it was voted to adjourn.

A True Record. Attest.
